december has traditionally been the second best month of the year.
since they started counting in late 1927, the spx has averaged 1.42% during the last month of the year and also returning 2.22% with dividends.
only the month of january has averaged higher at 1.47% but at a much lower total return of 1.58%. we know this to be funds paying capital gains in december traditionally.
